We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and commercial people leader to work with this large forward thinking global company in the FMCG manufacturing sector and lead their HR function for New Zealand.
 
The company has a fantastic culture, and although a large multinational business, the New Zealand operations are integral to the continued success of the organisation. The company is on a growth trajectory and has just invested in new plant technology to drive a sustainability agenda for their New Zealand manufacturing operations.
 
Key responsibilities of this role include providing functional leadership of the human resources with a strong emphasis on culture as well as enabling talent and organisational development. Additionally, you will be leading change management projects and executing employee relations strategies that will drive improved business performance.
 
It is essential that you are a collaborative and engaging HR leader that can be adaptable and can work with speed and agility. The ideal candidate will have a progressive and open mindset. The role forms a crucial part of the New Zealand leadership team and is critical to the continued success of the business.
 
We are looking for someone to continue to build and drive a high performing and engaging culture to the business and foster an environment of open communication and success. You will have a continuous improvement mentality and be able to leverage global resources to help you drive performance.
 
Although the company is a unionised environment the union and collective bargaining does not form a large part of this role and we are ideally searching for someone who can continue to drive the fantastic culture this organisation has and be a good relationship builder with a focus on OD type initiatives. We are looking for a real self-starter and someone that has a growth focused mentality with an agile approach to problem solving. 
 
You will be reporting into the executive general manager of people who is based in Australia. The EGM is an incredibly supportive and caring person who will be able to act as a sounding board and offer guidance and be a great mentor should you need it, but they are also looking for this role to be autonomous and drive their own people strategy for New Zealand.
 
This role is a truly commercial HR leadership role, and we need a robust organised leader at the top of their game. You will be leading a team of three direct reports, across three main sites on the North Island but be based in Central Auckland with regional travel approximately every two to four weeks, as well as occasional travel to the Australasia HQ in Victoria, Australia.
 
You will have access to an extremely successful global team with extensive resources to ensure your success in this role.
 
As the company is a unionised environment, and we are ideally searching for someone with experience in similar type of organisations with an FMCG, Manufacturing or similar background. The company has approximately 330 people with the majority made up of a blue-collar workforce.
