The New Zealand Rugby Players Association (NZRPA), in partnership with Pacific Rugby Players (PRP) and Moana Pasifika are seeking expressions of interest for a new Personal Development Manager (PDM). This is a full-time, permanent role based in Auckland, New Zealand.
  
This position is part of the NZRPA and New Zealand Rugby’s (NZR) Personal Development Programme (PDP). The Programme’s focus is to equip, empower and support players in their personal and professional growth.
  
In this role you will be responsible for leading and facilitating opportunities for player development and education across the key pillars of the programme. This includes areas such as working alongside players to co-construct individual growth plans that progress their educational qualifications and career prospects outside of rugby, equip and empower players to manage their career as a professional rugby player and further grow their personal skills, and support them with their wellbeing. This will involve you facilitating group learning opportunities, coordinating sessions with subject matter experts, as well as working with players individually.

  • Proven time management skills
  • An ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • Experience in growing people and supporting their development
  • Previous experience working with young people would be advantageous. This could be as a youth worker, social worker, teacher for example.
